1 four-ounce bar German chocolate ( or 1 c. chocolate chips)
3 TBS butter
2 TBS butter, softened
1 three-ounce package cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 TBS flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
Melt chocolate and 3 TBS butter in top of double boiler. Set aside to cool. In a medium sized bowl, cream 2 TBS butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Blend 1/4 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 TBS flour, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/4 tsp almond extract into the creamed mixture and set aside. In another bowl, beat 2 eggs, add 3/4 c. sugar and beat until blended. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into egg-sugar mixture. Stir melted chocolate mixture, walnuts, vanilla and almond extracts into sugar and egg mixture. Spread 1/2 chocolate mixture evenly in bottom of greased 9x9 inch pan. Spread cream cheese mixture over chocolate layer. Drop spoonfuls of all remaining chocolate over the cream cheese. Swirl with a fork for marbled effect. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 min or until toothpick comes out clean.
